Windows 10/11 - VPN - Use Default Gateway

To enable/disable the Use Default Gateway setting, follow these steps: -
  1. Click on the network icon in the task bar (bottom right-hand corner)
  2. Click Network and Internet Settings
  3. Click the Change adapter options button. That should open a new window with icons for all the different networks that have been configured
  4. Right-Click on the icon labelled "RichardsApex International" and select Properties. You should see the following screen: -
  5. Click on the Networking tab
  6. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button. You should see this screen

  7. Click the Advanced button
  8. I can never remember which way it is, but if the "Use default gateway on remote network" is checked, uncheck it, If it is unchecked, check it.
  9. Click the OK buttons until you are back to the screen in Step 4.
